Cosplay Contest 2023

We are so excited to announce this year’s Cosplay Contest!  Check out the rules down below.  Should we make any, “tweaks” between now and the contest on the 24th, you will be updated when you check in at the Info booth on June 24th.

  1. ALL costumes must adhere to our Code of Conduct and Weapons Policy.  https://graphiccon.ca/policies/
  2. All contestants must have purchased an event ticket (contestants 10 and under can show their free pass).
  3. Kids 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.
  4. All contestants must register before 1 PM (13:00 hrs) the day of the Event.  Contestants can either pre-register using the link below, or at the Info booth the day of the Event.
  5. Adults will be able to choose their entry level, either “Beginner, Intermediate, or Expert”
  6. Entries into the Intermediate and Expert category must be handmade, i.e. not store bought.
  7. Adults may not compete in the Kids category but may walk on, and assist, with a child’s presentation.
  8. Judging will consider creativity, time involved, overall design, and stage presentation.
  9. Pre-judging will analyze the costume’s materials, creation process, craftsmanship and cosplayer’s details.
  10. ALL cosplay MUST be family friendly. No crude behaviours, illegal activities, running, climbing, or being offensive.
  11. A prize will be given to the winner in each category following the judges decision at the time of the Cosplay parade.
  12. All contestants MUST appear and line up at the main stage 15 minutes BEFORE the start of the Cosplay parade. Any contestants missing during the lineup/pre-contest setup time will forfeit themselves from the contest.
  13. Large elaborate costumes must be handled by the contestant and/or assistants the contestant brings to help.
  14. No projectiles, glitter, ooze, wet paint, pyrotechnics, etc. The stage must remain in the same condition it started with.
  15. Judges decisions are final.
